The Preserve Missouri Award recognizes outstanding projects in various areas of preservation including commercial and residential rehabilitation, neighborhood revitalization, and landscape protection. The following will be honored this year: A.F. Davis House (Fayette, Howard County), Antoine Lalumondiere Home (Ste. Genevieve, Ste. Genevieve County), Bismarck Depot (Bismarck, St. Francois County), First Presbyterian Church (La Grange, Lewis County), Council Plaza Phillips 66 Station (City of St. Louis), Todd Bolender Center for Dance and Creativity (Kansas City, Jackson County), Trenton High School/Adams Park Apartments (Trenton, Grundy County). Several of the award winning projects utilized the Missouri’s Historic Preservation Tax Credit. Multiple studies have demonstrated that historic preservation increases heritage tourism, creates new jobs, stabilizes declining neighborhoods, and raises property values. In Missouri, communities large and small have benefited from preservation.
