Grand Opening of Berkshire Court Apartments

IDP Properties and Four Corners Development are pleased to announce the Grand Opening of Berkshire Court Apartments located in Perry, Georgia. The 72-unit apartment community features one-, two- and three-bedroom options as well as variety of amenities. These amenities include a community building with a computer center, playground, outdoor picnic pavilion and a community garden. In addition, Berkshire Court was designed and constructed to meet the EarthCraft Multi-family green building standards. This certification confirms that the residents will receive energy efficient homes with healthy indoor air quality.
The development was made possible by the financing made available through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). The financing included a Twenty-year $2,500,000 HOME Loan from DCA along with an allocation of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. TRUIST provided a construction loan as well as a $12 million equity investment. Due to the nature of the financing, the project will be offering apartments to families with incomes below 50% and 60% of the Area Medium Income.
The project architect was Dunwody/Beeland Architects, Inc. out of Macon, Georgia and the General Contractor was True North Construction Group out of Valdosta, Georgia. IDP Properties and Four Corners Development teamed together to develop Berkshire Court on approximately 10 acres located on Macon Road. This location was selected because of its proximity to area schools and jobs. Perry, Georgia is a growing community with four interstate exchanges that allow for continued economic development and growth. IDP properties and Four Corners Development are proud to provide the much-needed apartment community to Perry and Houston County.
The community will also be sponsoring an after-school tutoring program for residents to be located in the community building during the school year. The development has partnered with Family Visions Outreach, Inc. to help facilitate this educational enrichment program for the residents.
