Three of our apartment renovation projects have recently been completed in Oklahoma. A grand total of 60 units, split between the cities of Tonkawa, Newkirk and Kaw City (Which are all located within 15 miles of Ponca City, Oklahoma), have undergone extensive rehabilitation and are now ready to house families and seniors.
We took older residences that were in need of an update, and transformed them into homes that can serve a modern family. In our renovations, we worked to promote a sense of comfort, community and energy efficiency.
Our General Contractor – Murdoch Contracting, LLC, tackled one and two-bedroom residences installing new plank flooring and carpet, appliances, cabinets, doors and trim. We also updated the electrical, mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure our homes operate as they should.
One of the essential elements of our planning was providing new community spaces and amenities. These are all the things about turning “just another apartment complex” into a “thriving, happy community”. Our amenities include playground equipment, park benches, gazebos, landscaping, grass and trees, especially for the enjoyment of the Wheat Ridge children.
With an eye towards utility costs for our residents, and minimizing the carbon footprint of the community as a whole, we refurbished our apartments with energy efficiency in mind. We used NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) approved ENERGYSTAR appliances including, refrigerators, dish washers, water heaters and heat and air units, as well as efficient concrete siding for improved insulation, energy-saving windows, so our residents can stay comfortable without a massive energy bill. We also replaced all roofs with Architectural shingles, which have a 30 year warranty.
We believe our vision of family friendly and environmentally friendly living has come to life in the new Wheat Ridge Apartments located in Tonkawa, Newkirk and Kaw City, Oklahoma.
